  • Profile Information: If you choose to set a scientist as “Me,” this preference is stored locally on your device.

  • iCloud Sync: If enabled, your data (scientists, favorites, and categories) is securely synced across your devices using iCloud.
  • Spotlight Integration: We index your data to make it searchable via Spotlight, allowing you to quickly find scientists and publications.

  • Local Storage: All your data is securely stored on your device using Core Data, with optional iCloud backup.
  • Encryption: Any data synced with iCloud is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

5.1 Google Scholar

  • Data Collection: We collect and update information about scientists and publications directly from Google Scholar.
  • Data Indexing: Your data is indexed for Spotlight search functionality, allowing you to quickly find scientists and publications.
